The Palace Theater is a Performing Arts Center presenting live national, regional, community and collegiate (Colgate University) theater rich with drama, musicals, comedy and a family series.
The theater is an intimate environment seating 300 (audience) or 140 (cabaret) creating an energized and personal experience between the audience and performer. It is also a banquet hall accomodating weddings, receptions, graduations, corporate events and more.

Friday, Jul 10 - The Magic Trunk
Puppeteer and Children's Author, Sylvia Marksam, performs with several of her puppets and talks about how she does what she does in a performance/book signing. The Colgate Bookstore sponsors this FREE event, open to the public.

Friday, Jul 17 - Act UP! Youth Theater Show
Children (ages 6-11yrs) from the greater Hamilton area take the lead roles in producing their first show based on one of their favorite storybooks. Watch for more details.
The show starts at 7pm, with doors opening at 6:30pm. Tickets are only$5, children under 2 are free and families of 3 or more are only $15.

What do Comedy Central, The Letterman Show, and The Palace Theater have in common?
Guffaws for a Cause--- an evening of fun and comedy supporting local charities. The inspiration of Matt Malloy, the event brings a night of comedy and good will to Hamilton.
“I hope to make this (comedy night) an annual event and a strong first year will go a long way toward making that dream a reality.” says Matt Malloy. “I wanted to help create a venue that would assist these local charities with a sustainable method of raising awareness and funds. So I am working on establishing a 501c3 non-profit as an umbrella organization that will provide quality care for the donkeys and at the same time help these four charities: Canine Working Companions, Community Action Partnership, Hospice and local art therapy programs.”
Malloy’s concept, once the donkeys are adults, is for the charities to respectfully use these gentle creatures to provide rides for children at local Farmer’s Markets to raise awareness and funds for their causes. Through the charities the donkeys will also be available for use by the public for their children’s birthday parties or group gatherings.
The evening kicks off with a “meet the donkeys” outing on Hamilton’s Village Green at 5pm. All are welcome to visit the two charming baby donkeys until about 9pm. Comedy hour begins at 7pm with Jake at the Palace Theater for all persons 18+ or if under 18 accompanied by a guardian. A cash bar is available at The Palace Theater and the Colgate Inn prior and during the shows. Tickets for the show are only $15!
Name the donkeys! A raffle drawing to name the two miniature donkeys will help Malloy jump start his umbrella organization committed to raising awareness and funds for those four local charities. Each raffle entry is only $.50 or one canned or dry food product for Hamilton’s food cupboard. Enter as often as you like, submitting as many names as you desire: former or current boss, former or current spouse, politician or superhero. Ten entries will be drawn after Jake’s comedy show with the top finalists each receiving a gift from a local business; theater and movie tickets, food certificates and more. The two winning names will be chosen later in the month by a committee. Winners will be notified by phone. Raffle tickets are available at participating bars and restaurants in Hamilton and throughout the event on July 22.
